Continue to progress the Wheatbelt Secondary Freight Route project. Liaising with 42 Local Gov'ts, WALGA, Main Roads WA & Wheatbelt Roads Groups North and South. Providing financial support to engage consultants. b. Financially supporting the Wheatbelt Business Network in collaboration with the Wheatbelt Development Commission to enable them to provide a free COVID hotline to support all Wheatbelt businesses, not-for-profits, LGs and community organisations. c. Provided active support to BBRF, REDs and other grant applicants to facilitate infrastructure to provide improved economic and social opportunities to the region. d. Delivered the Noongar Enterprise Development Support projects in the Ballardong and Yued regions to encourage, support and develop small indigenous businesses and social enterprises. e. Completed a comprehensive evaluation of the Wheatbelt Tourism industry, including, accommodation, food outlets, attractions etc. The gap analysis identified the Western Wheatbelt was not represented in the existing tourism platforms and that the Wheatbelt urgently requires a platform to promote the region. Commenced the 'Wander the Wheatbelt' project in April 2020. f. Collaborated with RDA Midwest Gascoyne to provide a free GrantGuru public portal for the regions and enable a greatly reduced subscription rate for LGs to access the Councils only portal. The grants, information and advice assists our stakeholders to access a greater range of grant opportunities as they are released and improve the quality of applications.
