Action on Poverty Limited

Also known as “AFAP”, “AFAP Action on Poverty” and “Action on Poverty”, Action on Poverty Limited is a large-scale charity established in 1967. Their main activity is registered as sustainable development primarily serving families people in rural/regional/remote communities financially disadvantaged people pre/post release offenders and/or their families victims of crime (including family violence) females environment overseas communities or charities.

Action on Poverty is an international development organisation working across Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. For 50 years we have been helping poor and vulnerable communities to lift themselves out of poverty. From helping Timorese families to grow their own nutritious foods, to helping disadvantaged women in Cambodia learn business skills we target people with their own vision for change, and help them make a difference that lasts. We are a secular, independent non-government organisation (NGO) that takes a rights-based approach to poverty reduction. This means that we work to address the root causes of poverty and not just its effects. We do this by helping poor communities access the opportunities they deserve, such as training and finance, to transform their lives. We also strive to ensure the benefits of development are shared equally, especially among marginalised groups such as women, people with disabilities, and ethnic minorities.
