Horticulture Innovation Australia Limited
Also known as “Hort Innovation”, Horticulture Innovation Australia Limited is a large-scale charity established in 2014. Their main activity is registered as research primarily serving people in rural/regional/remote communities.
During the year, Hort Innovation continued to invest in R&D, marketing, trade and extension programs - all working towards outcomes, recommendations and resources to help increase the productivity, profitability and global competitiveness of Australia's horticulture sector. We delivered more than 600 new, ongoing and completed R&D projects; 24 industry specific marketing programs; whole-of-horticulture initiatives such as the Taste Australia international engagement program and the Hort Frontiers strategic partnership initiative to deliver additional, long-term value; and more. We communicated the activities, results and practice-changing information from these initiatives via a new website and a range of Hort Innovation's own channels and events, plus through industry communications programs, industry development programs, rural Australian media, face-to-face engagements and more- providing as many opportunities as possible for growers to access and implement program outcomes. During the year, Hort Innovation collaborated with a range of key bodies and institutions across horticulture and agriculture more broadly to ensure the operation and success of the organisation and it's investments. Hort Innovation also had strong engagement with Australian horticulture through the development of a new four-year strategy for the organisation, which will help us continue to 1)Drive knowledge and innovation into horticulture industries; 2)Deliver the highest-value R&D, marketing and trade investments across industries - now and into the future: and 3)Enable activities that drive all strategic imperatives (delivering the culture, talent, processes and systems needed to increase value to the horticulture sector).
